I know who you are inside.
Wanting help but fighting pride.
Keeping your thoughts all your own,
Needing a place to call home.
I thought a lot about your soul,
How you choose to play your role.
I understand more and more,
But I hate it when you close the door.
I think about you now and then,
I want to be your closest friend.
That is all I want to be,
Still holding memories of you and me.
I get confused occasionally,
So I go to my thinking tree.
And picture you as you are,
I try to wish on the same star.
I’m growing now and always will,
I know that’s not the greatest thrill.
But I want you to know who I am,
Whether or not I’m in your plan,
I do not think of anymore.
Because the world is knocking at my door,
I’m going to find I’m going to see,
The person that’s inside of me.
I’m going to find her somehow,
Living life in the here and now.
Taking chances and having fun,
I think I’m on a new run.
Of a life that I can see,
Has a lot to do with me,
I hope you call so I can hear,
All the things that for you are near.
